Tembec Extends Expiration Date Of Exchange Offer For US $50 Million

Tembec Inc. (“Tembec”) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tembec Industries Inc. (the “Company”), has extended the expiration date of its previously announced offer to exchange (the “exchange offer”) up to US $50,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of the Company’s outstanding 11.25% Senior Secured Notes due 2018 issued in February 2012 (the “initial notes”) that are tendered in the exchange offer for an equal principal amount of its 11.25% Senior Secured Notes due 2018 that have been registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the “Securities Act”).

NAHB- Housing Production On Rise

Housing production has risen 2.3 percent nationwide to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 750,000 units in August, according to new figures from HUD and the U.S. Census Bureau. This increase was fueled entirely by gains in the single-family sector, where the pace of new construction rose in every region for a combined 5.5 percent gain to 535,000 units.

NSF International Develops Product Category Rules

NSF International in collaboration with the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) to develop a Product Category Rule (PCR) for office storage products. This PCR will provide a science-based and internationally recognized method for reporting the environmental impact of office storage products including casegoods, files, cabinets, and other related products throughout their entire life cycle. Product Category Rules define how to conduct a life cycle assessment (LCA) for a particular product group and what to include in the resulting report, called an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

Stora Enso has signed an agreement to establish a joint venture called Bulleh Shah Packaging (Private) Limited with Packages Ltd. of Pakistan. The joint venture will include the operations of the Kasur mill and Karachi plant currently owned by Packages Ltd. Stora Enso Wins Timber Trade Journal Award
