Confor has given a qualified welcome to the UK Government's Chalara ash dieback control plan, published 5th December 2012.The Government's control plan places considerable emphasis on reducing spread of Chalara, which has been found widely across the UK, with most established "in the wild" cases in east England. Clearly, the disease has been here for some time and more cases may be identified in the spring.
